Intelligent Optimization of VPSA Oxygen Unit: Oxygen Capacity and Purity Automatic Adjustment Substantially Improves Energy Efficiency

1. One-Button Start-Up


Press the sequence button in the control room and synchronously start the motors and valves to start up the VPSA oxygen production equipment, thus reducing the start-up time and saving the operation cost of the oxygen system.


2. Turndown Ratio Regulation


Make the blower and vacuum pump stop and the valves enter a stagnant state during specific periods by modulating the time of the suspension step in the sequence to finally control the oxygen capacity and meanwhile, save a certain amount of power consumption to meet the user's flexible oxygen flow requirements.


3. Adsorber Switching


To automatically switch adsorber vessels instead of shutting down the whole set of VPSA oxygen systems during malfunctions. When a multi-tower VPSA oxygen unit is in operation, in case a certain blower or pump, and the corresponding valves fail, the oxygen unit will automatically switch to the two-tower operation to ensure only capacity reduction without shutting down, therefore, customers will have sufficient reaction and treatment time for troubleshooting and the operation reliability of the oxygen unit is improved.


4. Automatic Regulation to Reduce Effect of Temperature Variations


Due to the fact that large ambient temperature differences between day and night in some VPSA oxygen production projects will lead to large fluctuations in the oxygen flow rate and purity, PKU Pioneer proposed an automatic adjustment solution for capacity and purity regulation, which has been realized by the PLC control program. The automatic solution minimizes the fluctuation ranges to significantly reduce the influence of temperature changes on the capacity and purity of VPSA oxygen generation, thus promoting stable oxygen production and supplying steady oxygen for the downstream processes to save great operation and maintenance costs for customers.


5. Factory Ventilation


Automatically control the fan switches in the workshop based on the workshop temperature and oxygen intensity to ensure the reasonable supply of feed air and suitable temperature inside the factory for the stable operation of VPSA oxygen equipment.


6. Pioneer Cloud System


Through intelligent data collection device, PKU Pioneer achieved real-time collection and recording of the project site data, based on which PKU Pioneer provides customers with regular diagnoses, advanced predictions and online support services. Oxygen plant managers are able to monitor the operation of the VPSA-O2 equipment by viewing the data in real time on mobile phones or computers, and PKU Pioneer technicians can assist users in analyzing and solving problems after sharing the information.
